Eid-ul-Azha is a great blessing of Allah. May Allah bless the entire Muslim Ummah with the passion to offer sacrifice! This is the passion that guarantees life and progress to the nations. There has been hustle and bustle for two or three days every where. There are fleshy beautiful goats, captivating cows and shining young buffalos. فتبارک اﷲ احسن الخالقین 

So many foolish people in the world do not eat meat. They consider it a great piety that they do not kill any living being. What cure of the people who lose their wisdom? They are deprived of heavenly Light and resplendence of revelation. If the whole world had become foolish like them, the world would have been ruined long ago. Think a little please, if billions of fish are not taken out of the ocean, will the water of the sea not grow unruly and rush at the earth? There are so many benefits in the lawful things which Allah has called lawful that man cannot count those benefits. There is life in trees also. Why then those people eat fruits and vegetables? Why do they kill poisonous germs? They are also living beings. When we were in captivity, a Hindu policeman bragged that he had never tasted an egg and meat at all. One of the captives blurted out خسرالدنیا والاخرۃ  It is loss in the world as well as Hereafter. If you think minutely, you will know that the religion of Pandat, Barahman and Budhisht is a bitter enemy of man. They do not eat egg and think that they favour the world. They do not eat meat and fish which is piety but they eat man. They call man Shoodar and Chamaar in life and turn him worst than the dead.

The entire world may listen attentively. Allah be praised, we eat meat and consider it a great blessing, honour and favour to us because our Holy Prophet  used to eat meat. He  did so under Allah's command. Allah knows which thing is blessing and which one is foul. My dear, if the Creator does not know who will know?

الا یعلم من خلق وھو اللطیف الخبیر.

لا الہ الا اﷲ،لا الہ الا اﷲ، لا الہ الا اﷲ محمد رسول اﷲ.

The act of slaughtering sacrificial animals has been in vogue ever since man has been sent on the earth. It is the best source of gaining Allah's nearness. All of you would be remembering, "We used to dwell in heaven. Our father Hazrat Adam and our mother Hazrat Eve would dwell there in delight. They ate, drank and played well. Then something happened all of a sudden. All of you know what happened. Still men are duped by women. Let it go. It is an incident that is mentioned in the Holy Quran that we descended on the earth. In this way, we went somewhat away from Allah in position and degree. Now in order to change that remoteness into nearness whichever thing Allah's dear slaves sacrifice in the way of Allah is called "Qurbaan" in Arabic. We Urdu speakers have made it Qurbaani.

’’القُربان‘‘ ہو اسم لما یتقرب بہ الی اﷲ تعالیٰ من ذبیحۃ او صدقۃ

Qurbaani is that sacrificial animal or Sadaqah through which Allah's nearness is gained. Subhaan Allah! Subhaan Allah! Life goes happily. It is Allah's nearness. Ask a physical mundane lover how great thing beloved's nearness is. How much people sacrifice to gain nearness of the beloved. An American lover gave his girl friend a Boeng Plane so that visiting might be easy. A full Boeng Plane for the sake of an unholy thing. May Allah forgive! O Allah, bless us with Your true love so that we may sacrifice everything to gain Your nearness! Men came to the earth. Here they will be sorted out. Then the lucky people will dwell in their real home Paradise forever and ever. These are the people who keep trying to gain Allah's nearness living on the earth and offer every sort of sacrifice for it. The Holy Quran talks of the sacrifice of the days when we had recently descended from the sky. Recite the incident in the Surah Al-Maaidah starting from verse 27. واتل علیھم   الایۃ

And recite to them the story of two sons of Adam slightly. When both of them offered sacrifice, it was accepted from one of them, and was not accepted from the other. He said, "I will kill you." He said, "Allah accepts only from the God-fearing." (Al-Maaidah. 27)

This is the story of two sons of Hazrat Adam. Kaabeel is the elder son who was the killer. The letter "K" occurs before both Kaabeel and killer. Keep this sign in mind. Some people forget who was the killer and who was the killed. Haabeel was the younger son. The elder brother became jealous of the younger brother and seed of sins was sowed on the earth. The Holy Quran is a book of wonderful glory. It makes pairs of brothers and tells who are successfully and who are plucked. These days, most of the brothers develop the relation of Haabeel and Kaabeel. May Allah forgive! O my dear, brother is brother, so sweet name and so sweet relation! Curse be upon the Satan who creates jealousy among the brothers. Sometimes, this jealousy is so deep that the capacity of repentance is snatched away as the story of Haabeel and Kaabeel. Sometimes, this is jealousy of brothers of Hazrat Yousaf against him. But who are the ideal brothers? Holy Quran offers Hazrat Moosa and Hazrat Haaroon. Now every Muslim when recites the successful life and true love of those brothers in the Holy Quran, recites greetings upon them. سلامٌ علیٰ موسیٰ و ھارون.

This topic is very interesting. A few days ago, I read a poem, "People of every language and clan live in Karachi but despite differences of language and clans, they live like brothers just like Haabeel and Kaabeel. Let it go and revert to sacrifice (Qurbaani). All the commentators write that Haabeel who was the first oppressed killed one and high-ranked person in the world offered the fattest, the tallest and the dearest animal as sacrifice happily whereas Kaabeel who is the first merciless killer in the world, in whose Recording Book is included the sin of every killed, offered a mean type of grain from his fields. Allah accepted the Qurbaani of Haabeel and rejected that of Kaabeel.

The tale is very long and useful. Just keep it in mind that slaughtering sacrificial animals for the good pleasure of Allah is a very ancient activity. This deed is very dear to Allah. Allah accepts the sacrifice of the Go-fearing only. It comes to be known that the present day dunce people cannot nullify so ancient and so great deed. In our age, the meat of the sacrificed animal is eaten. Its skin and bones are brought to use whereas it was not allowed in old times. There fell a fire from the sky which ate the accepted Qurabaani. Now advance a little. Open the Holy Quran at Surah Al-Hajj and recite verse 34:

"For every Ummah, We prescribed the act of sacrifice, so that they may recite Allah's name over the provision He gave them from the cattle. So your Lord is One Lord. Therefore, to Him alone you must submit. And give good news to those who turn to Him with humbleness." (Al-Hajj: 34)

Hazrat Lahori Writes: The custom of sacrificing in the name of Allah has been in vogue in every Ummah. There is a glad tidings for those who are so humble. (Haashia Hazrat Lahori)

Subhaan Allah! Allah says ولکل اُمۃ   الایۃ  i.e. for every Ummah. No Ummah is exempted. Allah ordained the deed of sacrifice in every Deen and Sharia which Allah sent down through revelation. The act of sacrifice is also in it so that the Muslims may slaughter Halaal (lawful) animals for the good pleasure of Allah and get big rewards in lieu of it. The biggest of them is "nearness" to Allah. Allah Akbar! Think a little, how great deed sacrifice is. There is no Sharia where this deed is not in vogue. It comes to be known that every man is in need of this deed. Can this consecutive deed from Hazrat Adam to Hazrat Muhammad  be nullified in the name of helping the poor? O Allah, protect us against deprivation of wisdom and sagacity! Now advance a little more. The deed of sacrifice is progressing. Hazrat Ibraahim's knife in Mina is working at the neck of Hazrat Ismaaeel raising Allah's name. Allah Akbar! The point is brief!!! It is enough for those who understand. Then Madina, where the Holy Prophet  slaughtered sacrificial animals with his own hands.

What other proof does a true Muslim need to understand the act of sacrifice? The workers of the Ar-Rahmat Trust are ever ready to sacrifice their lives and carry the meat of sacrificial animals to the Muslims; if anyone of them comes to you and have a dinner with you, you will consider yourself lucky.

I hope that you will make full use of this opportunity. Now today's last point! It is heard that four thousand songs are stored in the i Phone of the Apple; four thousand heinous and nasty songs but by sacrificing a lamb or a goat, virtues equal to its hair are stored in the Recording Book. Is there any calculator that can count the hair of his sacrificial lamb or goat? Now you may decide, is i phone a bigger invention or the act of sacrifice? And will songs be useful in this world and after death or virtue?
