Only Allah is the Master of life, death, honour, disgrace and livelihood. Would that we may develop certainty of this fact in hearts and inculcate it well! There are very strange shows everywhere. I bought the newspaper after numerous days but there was not a single item of news in it reading which I might feel any consolation. The Muslims are killing, suppressing and selling one another and threatening one another. Mr. Prime Minister is going to prostrate before Mr. Bush today. For the last many days, he had been under this "Heart Trouble." There were preparations to make clarifications to kill and to arrest the Muslims. President Musharrif has sold so much at the hands of the Americans that the present P.M. has been left with nothing to sell. He has given so much to America that there is nothing in the country to give it to America. The Pakistani Prime Minister may meet the American President till today's evening. May Allah be kind to the Muslims, bless them with the blessings of Rajab and Protect them against the wickedness of this meeting! It is said that Mr. Gilani is also going to put a very humble request to Mr. Bush: Do trust in us, we are enlightened and liberal people in every respect. We are the enemies of Jihad and Mujahideen. We are dead opponents of the Taalibaan. We are under the protection of your dear people like Asif Zardari and Rahmaan Malik. We are ready to serve you heart and soul only if you call Mr. Parvez Musharrif with you. It is very difficult for us to work in his presence as he does not let friendship develop between us. In order to make his old age precious, he keeps instigating you against us and us against you. Let us see, what Mr. Bush answers. He may ask, "If I stop patronizing him and you people remove him and Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhary whom we do not like is released and you people begin to negotiate with the Taalibaan which we cannot tolerate at all. Mr. Gillani will make some clarifications and make some promises. Congratulations to you O Pakistanis. Our decisions are made by the others still we are free and independent.

Let go this bitter topic! Our hearts and minds are free and our bodies are also advancing to independence due to the blessings of Jihad. This is the miracle of Noble Quran that we weak-hearted people are independent whereas the mighty wealthy people of the country are slaves of America and Europe. Several months have passed since I have marked a mighty supplication. You know how powerful are the supplications that our dear Holy Prophet has taught us. The present supplication holds great might, efficacy and grace. This supplication is the cure of a number of maladies. Many a time, in intended to write down this supplication in my column but the direction of the pen turned to some other direction. Today, I am going to present his supplication by the grace of Allah and in the end I intend to offer a few points with regard to Evil-Eye. May Allah make it easy and accept it!

A Grand Supplication

Hazrat Abu Dawood reports a Tradition:

The man who recites this supplication in the morning, offers thanks for the day and the man who recites it in the evening, offers thanks for the night.

O Allah! Your blessing on me or any of Your creature, is solely from You. You are the One. There is no one equal to You. All praise and All Thanks are for you.

This is the supplication for the "morning" and insert word instead of "" to the supplication for the evening i.e. Recite thus.

Subhan Allah! How strange and grand the supplication is! There are innumerable blessings of Allah upon us. It is impossible to thank all of them. But out of the blessings of this supplication taught by the Holy Prophet , we offer thanks to all. All of us know how many benefits are there for offering thanks to Allah's blessings. For example.

1. There will be leniency in accountability for the blessings we offer thanks.

2. The blessings for thanks we offer, remain with us, they are not snatched away.

3. That blessing is multiplied for offering thanks for it.

4. Offering thanks for the blessings is the best source of pleasing Allah.

5. Torment is postponed due to offering thanks to the blessings and man remains procured.

There are numerous other benefits which Allah's dear slaves reap. Another great advantage and cure in this supplication is protection from deprivation.

Protection From Deprivation

1. You know how great task it is to support the parents financially. It is, no doubt, a great auspiciousness that Allah may give him money and also grant him with the power to expend it on his parents. But Satan does not like this virtue. He instils doubts in the heart of man. "Good forbids, you are serving your parents, feeding them and giving them." Sometimes he tells you that it is all a burden on you. Then you think what will happen to them if you do not give them. These things lead you to an utter deprivation. This supplication is the cure of this aliment. This supplication tells us that the children do not give their parents rather Allah gives them. Any blessing that is endowed to anyone is from Allah. If Allah makes some one the source of providing someone with provisions, it is Allah's Favour upon him. If he does not give them, the parents will gain the provisions that is ordained to him. Therefore, he should not show coquetry nor be proud but fear Allah and offer thanks to Him.

2. How great virtue it is to expend on Jihad. Allah-o-Akbar! The Noble Quran has described its excellence again and again. And in Surah Muhammad ( ), Allah has persuaded the Believers again and again to spend money on Jihad. So many of its excellences have been described in the Traditions that when Sahaaba(RA) heard them, they sacrificed everything. Allah reverted them that wealth in both the Worlds multiplied by thousands. But when the point begins to strike in the heart, "I am accumulating wealth for the Mujahideen, I am bringing wealth for Mujahideen, I am giving money to the Mujahideen," the doors of deprivation open. And man is deprived of so great auspiciousness. We have observed that if a man boasts that he collects funds for the Mujahideen, he also falls into deprivation. This supplication cures this malady that he is nothing. Anyone who is provided with any blessing is from Allah. It is Your favour on me that You have accepted my coin and has blessed me with the auspiciousness to collect contributions. The Mujahideen will gain what is ordained to them. It is Your grace that You have accepted me. Only this supplication saves from deprivation.

3. Same is the case in feeding the members of the family. Some idiot feel pride in his wife that as she has come to his house, she is eating well. O the slaves of Allah, if she had not come to your house, she would certainly have been provided with the essential provisions. It is also possible that he might have been getting provision out of her blessings. Some idiot wife gives something to her husband and feels pride in it. She forgets the ways of Hazrat Khadija (RA) that she gave all her riches to him for the sake of Din and never felt proud of it. In the same way, some people feed the guests and think that they have fed them whereas the guests eat their own provision. In short, this supplication saves us from deviation at every step because man has come from Paradise and now he is climbing up to Paradise. During climbing, as soon as he struts, he will fall down. He will have to climb up bowing himself down. Allah makes a man a source of provisions for someone. Such a person should offer thanks to Allah and never feel any itching, pain and niggardliness. It is all auspiciousness for him. Therefore, he should keep providing the provisions to the deserving people like an honest treasurer or a steward. Hence, the Muslim should believe that wealth belongs to Allah, not him and there is all good and reward for him in what Allah is making him expend. If this supplication taught by the Holy Prophet becomes our routine and we recite it with perception and certainty, we shall be protected against numerous deprivations and follies.

Another Essential Aspect

All that has been said about the provisions is one aspect of the picture. Now, if only this aspect is kept in view, the door of "Gratitude" can also close. So, its other aspect should also be kept in view. The Muslim to whom some provision reaches through some other Muslim, should offer him thanks and pray for his welfare and good. The Holy Prophet was ordered to offer thanks to the Muslims and pray for them who bring "Sadaqaat" for Jihad. He says, "The man who does not offer thanks to people, does not offer thanks to Allah." He himelf would bless the Muslims who used to spend money with different precious supplications. This thing will become clear to you fully if you study the incidents of Sahaaba(RA). The substance is:

1. The man who is blessed by Allah to give away and expend money, should not consider it his grace but consider it Allah's grace on him and he should not feel any unease at it. He should not consider him mean whom he is giving. He must be sure that everyone is eating his own provisions.

2. The man who is being given, should offer thanks to the giver and pray for him but he should remain attentive to Allah and may not consider anyone his sustainer save Allah. May Allah bless all of us with the certainty, routine and benefits of this supplication! Today, I was also to say a few words about "Evil-Eye" but the space for the column is already being occupied. So, there is only a brief introduction to the "Evil-Eye." The rest will be next, by the grace of Allah.

Evil-Eye----Bitter Pain

1. The Holy Prophet says: "The Evil-Eye is Truth."

2. Hazrat Anas (RA) says that the Holy Prophet has allowed to pray and wear charm for diseases of "Evil-Eye" "Fever" and sores." (Al-Muslims)

3. Evil-Eye is of two kinds: 1. Men's 2. Giants'. The evil eye of the giants' is very bitter. Imaam Hussain bin Masood says that evil eye of the giants is sharper than the point of the spear. Hazrat Umm-e-Salma(RA) says that the Holy Prophet saw a maid-slave in her house whose face was sore (due to the evil-effect of the giants). He ordered to blow incantations over her as she is under the spell of evil eye. (Al-Bukhari, Al-Muslim)

4. Evil-Eye is actually the arrow that springs up from the temperament and nature of the Jealous person. They go to the person upon whom evil-eye works. Sometimes these arrows strike and sometimes miss.
5. The Holy Prophet says.

"If a thing surpasses fate, it is Evil-eye". (Musnad-e-Ahmad)

Fate is a very firm and certain thing. No one can avert the decree of fate. But if a thing has the power to avert the decree of fate, it is, "Evil-eye" (but cannot).

It is a brief introduction to Evil-eye. These days people call every thing spell and begin to visit the charmers. They drink may charms. (perhaps paper is costly only due to it) They doubt one another that such and such person has cast a spell over him and they do not think of "Evil-Eye" whereas some Traditions tell us that Evil-Eye can lead a man to killing. So, you are requested not to go to the fake conjurers and professional charmers but cure the "Evil-Eye" with the help of the Noble Quran and the Sunnah and make arrangements to avoid evil-eye.
