Allah's dear Prophet Hazrat Muhammad would always make Sahaaba (RA) recall the Hereafter. It is essential for the success of a man to remember the Hereafter, grave, Paradise, hell and accountability otherwise even the religious people become neglectful. Hazrat Abu Harairah (RA) says that once they were with the Holy Prophet . They heard the voice of something falling. The Holy Prophet said, "Do you know, what sort of voice it is?" We said, "Allah and His Messenger know better." He said, "This is the stone that was thrown suspending into hell seventy years ago. Today, that has reached the bottom of hell and it was that voice." (Al-Muslim)

Allah! Allah! The Doomsday will come soon. The unfortunate people will be thrown into the hell. Allah knows what will become of us then? Our Lord Hazrat Muhammad warned again and again, "Make arrangements to avoid hell though with the help of a piece of date." (Al-Bukhari). But only that should make arrangements who is worried due to hell and is certain of death. We will die after a few days, then what will we take with us? Our mobile phones? The mobile phone has spread so great evil that only one phone can be enough for the horrible torment of a man i.e. pictures, music, games, nasty friendships, useless calls and the talk that will be the cause of torment of the Day of Judgement. Over-talking has already ruined the Muslims. Now there is always talk on the mobile phone. No one remembers that those discourses are recorded. Allah is hearing that talk. The money spent on those calls will also be asked about. Everybody has a number of SIMS and numerous monkey pranks with every SIM. In the Indian torture cells, there was a man with us who was in the habit of over-talking. I admonished him numerous times but to no avail. His talking disturbed the recitation and Zikr of the companions. At last, the law was mad that no one should talk to him. He was very upset. Very small quantity of food was provided there. He saved some food, went to some companion, gave that food to him and requested him, "Take this food but hold discourse with me." The companions would say jokingly, "We will take one hundred rupees and then listen to you." He would agree to it even when there used to be great shortage of money. Mobile phone has brought merriment to such people. Now they very easily, kill their own time and those of others also whereas avoiding useless talk is the sign of Emaan. He said, "The thing about which I fear of my Ummah most is the tongue." (Kashf-ul-Mahjoob)

The Holy Prophet said, "The man who believes in Allah and the Hereafter, should talk good or remain silent." (Al-Bukhari, Al-Muslim)

It is proved with the help of Traditions that protection of the "tongue" is as essential as that of the private parts. The Holy Prophet said, "Do not talk much save Allah's Zikr because such talks harden the heart and the farthest among the people to Allah is the man whose heart is hardened." (Tirmizi)

Recently, we have studied the report about the stone flung suspended. Now study the report what the Holy Prophet has said for our benefit. He said, "A man utters something over which he does not ponder. (But) owing to it, he falls so deep into the hell as is the width between the east and the west. (Al-Bukhari, Al-Muslim)

Now, I have recalled a very small but important point. We take care of every of our disease but do not take care of the tongue. Everybody talks non-stop. The one who is advised to talk less, gets angry. Before this, the blessing was that there was no mobile phone, the over-talkers could get the chance to keep silent for sometime. But now, they have got the opportunity due to mobile phone that they will not miss even the lost over-talking due to it. But have we ever thought, what we speak? We talk of (1) Kufr, (2) Sex (3) Backbiting (4) Dissension among the Muslims and (5) Sin. Will we be able to settle the account of all these things in the grave. Hazrat Anas (RA) says, "A Sahaabi (RA) died. Another Sahaabi (RA) said: Glad tidings of Paradise for him. The Holy Prophet said, "He may have uttered futile talk or may have showed miserliness in a thing that he was not lacking." (Tirmizi)

Reading such reports, every body says that in this way life will become hard. There are three answers to it:

(i) The object of such reports is to create anxiety in the heart to protect the tongue. Those who are blessed with this tension by Allah, such a blessing is created in their Emaan and activities that even after the lapse of hundreds of years, people gain benefits from their activities.

(ii) The points of goodness are so many that if man gets busy in them, he may not feel any lack. The people who waged Jihad in the past, would run the government, complete the recitations of the Noble Quran daily and the Durood Sharif for thousands of times also. The care of the tongue had a great hand in it.

(iii) Futile talk sometimes becomes a cause of some subversion, pretence (Showiness) and some illicit friendship. Then this subversion, pretence and illicit friendship cause thousands of sins. During the days of captivity, when a few of us studied Islamic dictates and Traditions about the protection of the tongue, we were worried and many of us developed abomination against over-talking. If you also want to study those Traditions, do study the book "Forty Maladies of the Jews" published by Maktaba Irfan Lahore. There is the heading at the page 307. "The Ninth malady of the Jews------ The Tongues Habitual of Lying and Sins." Do study this chapter for your Hereafter because the maximum loss of the tongue reaches to the talker and he is disgraced, humiliated and plucked. There are forty Traditions about the protection of the tongue in this chapter page 44--65. Do study them and take care of your tongue. Here, keep two points in mind that when we study something about Din, Satan puts two points in our hearts. First: such and such person does not act upon it. Second: I myself will not act upon it. I shall tell others. So whenever the speakers hear or read something, they do not intend to act themselves. They feel delighted that they will tell others and win applause. We should intend to act upon those Traditions the very today. Then the door of Madina will open for us and the light of guidance from Kab'ba will descend upon us. When this sense about this fatal disease was created among the captive companions, we adopted many ways of our correction according to our capacity. The Patients suffereing from the maladies of the tongue among us were of numerous kinds.

(i) Over-talkers (ii) Liars without limit (iii) The lovers of getting information and curiosity (iv) Indecent and futile talkers (v) Seekers and talkers of subversions (vi) Hard talkers (vii) Beaters about the bush, rumour mangers.

In short, it is a very vast jungle. When man's tongue becomes a snake, it stings everything. The righteous deeds and Eman of years go waste due to speaking Kufr. Given below is the short syllabus for the cure of all these diseases.

(1) Complete silence was observed for a few days. This thing becomes easy during last decade of the Ramazan because normally man remains busy in recitation, Zikr, Tarawih and worshipping. When observed silence, light was clearly discernable on the faces of the companions who used to talk much otherwise because the Light of the face and the heart vanishes due to our-talking. But this act fell very heavy to some companions. They would quench their thirst mistakenly or stealthily. Some interesting tit-bits also arose at it.

(2) The liars were given a small diary to note down the lies that they told daily. They were also advised to count down, how many lies he has given up at the time of sleeping and then to beg pardon. A companion started this practice. The first evening, he had the record of telling thirty lies. But after realization and begging pardon, the thing was reduced to four in one day.

(3) The cure of the patients of curiosity was tough. When they saw two persons talking, they wished to know all the details. For this sake, they underwent great disgrace and took over the others' evils at their heads. They were told about Allah's dictate in the Surah Al-Hujarat not to be curious about others and were told evils brought about due to it. Allah be thanked, they got benefits. The person who developed the thinking that over-information was fatal for his Eman and the Hereafter, that he is to undergo accountability, got rid of this malady.

But backbiting is a very dangerous malady. It is useful to talk of the Traditions about backbiting. The responsible companions made mutual promise that the person who backbit someone, they would bring them face to face. Allah be thanked, this proved useful.

There is a story of Hazrat Thaanvi or some other saint that his wife backbit some lady in front of him. He, at once, took his wife to that lady and told her what his wife was saying about her. His wife felt much ashamed at it and never backbit anyone in future. Let it go. It is a lengthy topic and a wide spread disease. I have mentioned the book. Study it with the intention to act upon it. It will benefit you greatly. You will, at least, learn that such and such points are sin. Then you will get the power to beg pardon of them. If a man cannot quit sin, he can, at least, develop the thinking to consider it the sin and keep begging pardon at it and hate it.

I was talking of the mobile phone. The wrong, futile and illegal use of the mobile phone that is being made these days that if only one set and SIM is placed in his Recording Book, it will be sufficient to ruin him. I often tell that America and Europe can never defeat the Mujahideen. Only the mobile phone, computer and TV can defeat them. The mutual dissension, love of personal respect, carelessness in collective properties, and foul use of the tongue push them into the deep ditches of disgrace. Everyone draws the pictures of his young children without any fear with the help of camera mobiles. O slaves of Allah, does any person bring his daughter before the camera? Has modesty been buried so deep that even the innocent children are under the torment of mobiles? The oppressors have made one effort and they are successful in it i.e. snatch away the realization of sin from the hearts of the Muslims. The olden Muslims were also sinners but they realized that that was sinful act. So they would weep over it, begg pardon, think of their correction and pray for it. But these days, neither the TV nor the video nor the camera nor unveiling nor films nor picturing is a sin.

A New Subversion:

The Jews and the Quadiaanis have published very big posters about peace and every newspaper is publishing them for the sake of a few coins. Jihad is a clear cut obligation of Islam and a dictate of the Noble Quran. But no one has the courage to let go these illegal currency notes and not to publish such posters. The learned and the wise people are requested to work against it and convey the Shari' dictate to the Ummah about every new invention including mobile so that these things may be used keeping them within the limit of the lawful (Halal) and the mobile of none of us may become the Mobile Serpent of the grave or the torment in the Hereafter.
